Dear Friend, Sex becomes a chronic source of tension in too many relationships. That’s why, this and next week’s newsletter is about enhancing and maintaining peak sexual performance. I decided to break the topic into two parts. Today’s email is part ‘A’ and you’ll get part ‘B’ next week. That way you won’t get overwhelmed. ;) Let’s get started... If you wish to experience the most physically exhilarating and emotionally rewarding sex more often, you should educate yourself about sex hormones a little. You see, there are three major sex hormones – estrogens and progesterone in women and testosterone in men. All three are produced in both men and women but in different proportions. Estrogens, progesterone and testosterones are made from pregnenolone and DHEA. The secret to great sex performance! Hormones travel to muscles, organs, or glands far from their point of origin. Once they reach their destination, they set in motion a series of complex chemical reactions to accomplish their purpose. DID YOU KNOW? Sex hormones are produced through a series of chemical reactions beginning with cholesterol. If you have too much or too little of cholesterol in your body that can lead to hormone imbalances. Cholesterol is converted into pregnenolone, which is considered the mother sex hormone. Pregnenolone is then converted into DHEA, progesterone, testosterone and estrogens. Luckily, you don’t have to remember any of that. Sufficient to say that your body, no matter whether you’re male, female or in between, needs to produce adequate amounts of those hormones if you want to enjoy great sex. But... Factors like ageing, diet, stress or the environment and health affect your body’s hormone production ability. Are your sex hormones in check? If sex is no longer a fun, pleasurable and exhilarating experience for you, your sex hormones could need a little boost. Here’s a simple TEST you can take right now to determine whether your hormones need a little help. (DON’T FORGET - If your hormones are really bothering you, it’s always best to consult a medical professional.) OK, so here are the questions: Do you have low energy, lack stamina and vitality? If you’ve answered YES to at least two or three of the above, chances are that your hormones need a little tune up. To boost your sexual pleasure, your sex hormones must be balanced. How can you do that?!?!? Let’s talk about that next week since this email is getting long already. I hope you enjoyed today’s ‘technical’ explanation of the chemical reactions that take place in your body even right now as you’re reading this email. Interesting...Eat well! Be well! Enjoy Life! Dr Annie Guillet DC P.S. – An interesting characteristic of the way hormones work is the feedback principle. A gland will keep pouring its hormone into the blood until its target organ, which has the receptors for that particular hormone, has received a sufficient amount. Then that target organ will signal back to the gland to stop emitting its hormone for the time being. Factors like stress, ageing and diet can weaken that ‘communication’ process or even the production of the hormones within your body. Diet is the KEY FACTOR that can help you maintain a healthy sex drive. My book makes that easy – check it out here! Your partner will be forever grateful!!! Don’t miss next week’s PART B of this ‘private’ discussion. Talk to you then!
