NO MORE SNIFFLES!
Fight Colds, Flu And Infections the NATURAL WAY...

150 Km/hour!

That's how fast droplets can travel after a cough or a sneeze.

Yikes!

Not only that but they can travel up to 2-3 metres and more. Some studies even suggest that there are about 100 billion bacteria's in our mouths. So, it's probably not a good thing when the person sitting next to you on the bus or train sneezes like crazy.

Apparently the cold virus can survive on inanimate objects up to 3 days, and an office telephone contains 25,000 germs per square inch... So, think twice before you answer that phone in the office!

Should you lock yourself in a box away from the world? Well, of course not!
The thing is that you can't control who gets sick or who's going to spread the cold virus in the office or on the train. What you can do is give yourself the peace of mind knowing that your body has the muscle to handle such attacks successfully.

When disease strikes, your first line of defence is your immunity. Your body's defence system should be able to defend against bacteria and viruses if it is in good health. So, what you need is strong immunity, because even when you do get sick, your body will fight off disease a lot sooner.

Keep in mind that your immune system can only be as healthy as its organised cells and tissues. What feeds your cells? It's oxygen and nutrients. Nutritional deficiency may be simply lack of nutrient intake, or poor digestive and absorption processes. Keep in mind that things like stress and pollution also rob your body of its vital nutrients. As the immune system becomes weakened, the body becomes susceptible to any opportune viruses or bacteria.

So, it makes sense to give your immunity system a boost, especially when the pig flu virus is still going around. There are things you can do to protect yourself from viruses and infections. Taking proactive action rather than constantly worrying about your health is in my opinion the best way to keep your body germ-free and healthy.

You can strengthen your immune system with these 5 simple yet effective ways:

  1. Follow an alkaline-rich diet. Alkaline-rich diet contains vitamins, minerals, fibre, and antioxidants that stimulate and strengthen the immune system. They also help detoxify your body and modulate hormones. It's all about restoring a pH-balanced environment in your body that creates a healthy buffer against disease, viruses and bacteria. If you're still not following an alkaline lifestyle, visit The Alkaline Cook Book, you won't believe how simple it is and how great it makes you feel.
  2. Eat less meat. Remember, meat acidifies your system. A greater intake of meat has been linked to an increased risk in cancer of the colon, stomach, uterus, prostate and breast. To keep your body healthy, your diet should include 80 percent of alkaline-rich food for every 20 percent of acid-forming food. So, you can still consume meat, just keep in mind that too much will throw your body's alkalinity out of the window. When your body is acidic, it is a perfect environment for disease, viruses and bacteria.
  3. Go for garlic. Garlic has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal activity. It may work against some intestinal parasites. Garlic has shown long-term benefit for recurrent yeast infections. Garlic is regarded as one of the most effective remedies to lower cholesterol and blood pressure as well as offering protection against strokes and heart disease. So, add raw, minced garlic to dressings, dips, soups and sauces.
  4. Avoid stress overload. Chronic stress depresses immune function. Severe or prolonged stress can make the body more vulnerable to ailments ranging from skin rashes and the common cold to heart attacks and cancer. Because of stress many lose work time, relationships, lose productivity, miss deadlines, and lose friends and even sleep. When you feel overstressed, try music to sooth your mind and spirit. Or get a book. It's a great way to stimulate your brain. Reading puts your head and imagination to work!
  5. Exercise a bit more often. You don't need to go to a gym to give your heart a good workout. Walking, running or jogging will push your heart to work harder, improve your circulation and inject your body, tissues and organs with more oxygen. The key? You've probably guessed it - it needs to be regular!

So, which one of the 5 is most important? Well, they all are very effective ways to help you stay healthy and germ-free.

Don't forget that you probably do a lot of eating during a typical day. So, it makes sense to ensure that what you eat is good for you. The Alkaline Cook Book gives you a simple plan to follow to make smart eating choices. It's just $27.00 for the pdf version of the book and $59.95 for the hard-cover copy - you have to agree, that's a small price to pay to keep your body healthy.

A healthy body gives you a healthy mind. But, most importantly, a healthy body gives you the confidence, energy and drive to accomplish and excel in life!

Eat well! Be well! and Enjoy Life!
