Eat to live longer – a survival strategy Dear friend, I love parties. You know how some people know how to throw a damn fine party... where you can drink, eat and be merry? Thank goodness those people are rare! All of us are occasionally invited to birthday parties, weddings, Christmas parties... where every scrumptious food there is highly acidic and tempting! At parties people tend to overindulge on roast beef, ham, wine, beer and rich desserts. When those around you eat until they’re about to burst and great food teases your eyes, naturally you’re tempted to let yourself go a little. What kills the next day is brain fog, hangover, runny nose, aching joints or acid stomach – an “aftershock” of overindulgence on highly acidic foods. To binge or not to binge Does that mean that you just can’t binge every now and then? You can, as long as you eat healthy, alkalizing foods at least 80% of the time. But you also need to get ready before the big day? You need to give your body the “ammo” it needs to burn foods quickly and without overloading the system too much. How can you do that...? You want to know, right? This should come handy the next time you get invited to a party! Make sure, that half an hour to one hour before you binge, you take the following supplements:
Buffered vitamin C may be helpful for individuals who have stomach sensitivity, or who are taking higher doses of the supplement. Pancreatic digestive enzymes are capable of breaking down all types of food: carbohydrate, protein, and fat. You see, wheat, red meat and diary products are hard to break down and require the body to produce large amounts of enzymes. That overworks the pancreas and so it makes sense to ease the load by taking pancreatic digestive enzymes. Vitamin B complex is necessary for normal digestion, absorption of foods, proteins synthesis and carbohydrate and fat metabolism. So, before you give in to sinful foods, make sure you turbo-charge your tummy with the above vitamins and enzymes. Of course, you need to assist your body in eliminating wastes and toxins by eating liberal amounts of alkaline-rich foods at least 80% of the time. The Alkaline Cook Book provides a simple eating plan to help your cleanse and nourish your body, mind and soul using alkalizing foods. As a result, you will have more energy, increased stamina, less stress in your life and you’ll be able to indulge on rich, delicious foods and munchies without feeling guilty! P. S. – Of course you will find that sometimes you need more advance strategy to blot out acid out of your system. You could try taking alkalizing agents that help to neutralize excess acids of any kind in your body. About one hour or longer after eating, take one-quarter or one-half teaspoon of sodium and potassium bicarbonate (depending on your tolerance for potassium, make it either 4:1 or 8:1 ratio) in half a glass of water. This should be repeated every hour until your body regains its healthy alkaline state. This little secret all top athletes use to get rid of acidosis from their overworked muscles!
