PERFECT ANTIDOTE to “Bad Body Fever” That Dear friend, The word diet gives many nightmares of deprivation and hunger. Recently I checked the word “diet” in a few dictionaries and here are the 4 “interesting” definitions I stumbled across... Apparently, diet is/means:
Not sure about you, but NONE of the above appeal to me. Going over these definitions gives me cold shivers... ...You are to LIMIT what you eat... You have to SELECT the food you eat – of course, you can’t pick anything you enjoy or would die for... You have to eat or drink according to a REGULATED system – except that most “systems” turn people into lost, confused and frustrated victims... And, my favourite... you have to eat SPARINGLY! Wow, sounds like a lot of fun, doesn’t it? One might as well give up on everything because there is a good chance that you could lose a pound or two. If one has to work so hard to achieve so little – why bother in the first place?!?!? Especially since whatever “results” you achieve you’ll probably lose it all and gain even more weight when you get off the plan. So, you better stay with the plan and if the plan makes you feel miserable – just have to learn to live with it. Silly, isn’t it? After failing one diet plan after the next, many people conclude that there must be something wrong with them or their body. Someone once said that diets turn us into compulsive eaters who are obsessed with food and weight. Actually, not all diets are bad – you need to find the one that works for your body type and lifestyle. You see, we all have a “diet.” Your diet is the foods you choose to eat everyday. So, you don’t “go on a diet” because you already have a diet. Whatever you had for breakfast, lunch or dinner today IS your diet. Most peoples’ diets don’t work to their advantage. If your diet works for you, you’ll have a slim body that makes you proud. If your diet doesn’t work for you, you already know it. But, it makes no sense with persisting at something that doesn’t produce the result you want. Albert Einstein once said: “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” I think Mr. Einstein was a smart guy.
