Doctors often prescribe anti-fungal medications like Nizoral, Terazol, and Diflucan to treat this condition. The problem with such medications is that rather than addressing the root of the problem they treat symptoms only.

The best way to treat yeast infections is to remove the cause of the problem and create an body environment that's unfriendly to yeast.

What can cause candidiosis or yeast infection are yeast or sugar products. So, it makes sense to exclude them from your diet if you want to tame the yeast monster!

Understand that whatever food you eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner helps you to do one of the following, either it:

  1. Feeds the yeast
  2. Starves the yeast

So your diet is important.

The best diet, in our opinion, is one that works in harmony with the pH of your body. Your body's pH needs to be slightly alkaline or neutral for your body to perform at its peak. Your diet needs to assist your body in maintaining that critical pH balance. Only an alkaline diet can help you do that.

You need friendly bacteria to keep yeast under control...

An acidic body environment causes friendly bacteria to weaken, decline and die. Without friendly bacteria your body won't be able to effectively deal with sugars which only will cause yeast to grow and multiply.

Don't forget this simple rule. Some foods feed the yeast, other foods starve it. Let's list the foods that feed the yeast...

SUSPECT #1: SUGAR 
Now some people think it's only the white processed sugar that's bad for you. Well, if you have yeast infection you should eliminate any sugar products from your diet. Not only does that include canned or bottled fruit and vegetable juices but also fresh fruit juices you make at home. It also includes honey,  and, don't forget, that many fruits and veggies are high in sugar too.

SUSPECT #2: YEAST Products
Yeast products can contribute to and even worsen yeast infections. We're not just talking about breads, rolls and pastries, but also beer, wine and other alcoholic beverages which are made using brewer's yeast.

SUSPECT #3: SMOKED MEATS AND CHEESES
Think again before you have a few slices of that fresh salami, ham or pastrami. Those foods, including cheeses and smoked salmon, are often processed with sugar and yeast, the two prime suspects for yeast infections. Also, cheeses are mould forming.

While tea tends to accumulate mould on it, coffee contains caffeine which, not can aggravate yeast overgrowth. Coffee is also highly acid-forming so think again before you have another cuppa!

Many of these products have traces of antibiotics in them. Now you know what antibiotics do in your body... They kill the good bacteria.
